Andrew Hirst

Andrew Hirst BA (Hons) has worked in the insurance and reinsurance industry for 14 years during which time he has worked in both the UK and the US and has gained a wide range of experience working for two large London Market insurance organisations.
Initially working within commutation support, Andrew then moved into claims with responsibility for identifying and mitigating significant claims deterioration. During this time he worked predominantly on US Casualty business, firstly managing a team inspecting US third party administrators and managing general agents and then a team of APH claims adjusters.
After moving company in 2007, Andrew worked within commutations and liquidations, completing a number of large commutations. He was also involved in submitting complex filings to a number of schemes of arrangement and liquidations.
Before joining Cranmore in May 2010 Andrew was working in the US and conducted reviews of assumed APH claims portfolios and associated reinsurance. Additionally he co-ordinated financial reporting and cash-flow on a large Workers' Compensation pool.
Andrew has conducted several claims portfolio evaluations and pre-acquisition due diligence reviews in the UK, Europe and the US on all major lines of business.
Job Summary
Commenced work at RiverStone Management Limited (formerly Sphere Drake and Odyssey Re) in 1996, where he worked for more than 10 years. In 2007 he joined Enstar (EU) Limited and in 2009 he moved to the US to work for Enstar (US) Inc., before joining Cranmore in June 2010 following his return to the UK.
