Andrea Giannetta has 15 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, having worked as both outside counsel and in-house counsel. She was named Vice President and Reinsurance Counsel of Cranmore (US) in 2009.
Andrea’s experience includes handling and managing direct, ceded and assumed latent claims arising mainly from asbestos, environmental and health hazard matters. She also has experience handling and managing declaratory judgment actions and reinsurance arbitrations and litigations. Andrea’s experience also involves the inspection and review of latent claims presented from insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as inspections of other classes of business. Additionally, Andrea provides assistance to due diligence teams in connection with potential acquisitions of insurance and reinsurance companies.
Job Summary
In 1995, Andrea commenced work as outside counsel representing insurance companies against policyholders in connection with various latent-type claims. In 2001, she began her in-house career at RiverStone Claims Management, Inc. where she handled the highly complex latent claims. She became an Assistant Vice President in 2004. In 2005, she began handling complex reinsurance disputes and, upon appointment as Deputy Reinsurance Counsel, the day to day management of the arbitrations and litigations. Andrea joined Castlewood (US), now known as Enstar (US) in 2007 as Vice President and Reinsurance Counsel and was appointed Vice President and Reinsurance Counsel of Cranmore (US) in 2009.
